Overview

The TRITON-XXS SBC is the World's smallest embedded PXA255 cpu module, measuring just 59 mm x 32 mm x 6.6 mm (approx. 2.3" x 1.25" x 0.25" ).

Read Alex Mendelson's review on EEProductCenter.com of the TRITON-XXS module. You can also download a PDF of the article.

The TRITON-XXS is supplied with 64 MByte SDRAM and 32 MB Flash. The PXA255 chip contains a built-in LCD controller and PCMCIA interface; these signals are brought out on the 2 x 100 pin high density SAMTEC connectors. Other interfaces include four fast serial interfaces (up to 4Mbps), SPI, and I2S and AC'97 audio.

Marvell

Originally developed by Intel, the XScale product line was purchased by Marvell in 2006. Visit Marvell's XScale webpage

Expansion

The TRITON-XXS is supplied with two low-profile 100-pin SAMTEC connectors to provide the designer with access to most of the PXA255's signals for nearly unlimited expansion. See the Specifications below or download the datasheet for full connector pin-outs.

Extreme Low Power Consumption

Perfect for battery-powered applications, the TRITON-XXS is equipped with mobile SDRAM.

The XXS also contains the unique programmable core power generator which allows you to vary the CPU voltage from 0.9V to 1.5V to further reduce consumption. This can be further reduced by using a combination of sleep-mode and clock-rate selection. With these features it is possible to flexibly control the total power-consumption for any application.

TRITON Development Kit

The TRITON-XXS is can be used with the TRITON Development Kit-2. However, we strongly recommend that for development you use either the TRITON-LP or TRITON-ETN module, as these contain onboard Ethernet for uploading developed code - which is much faster than using Xmodem and RS232.

Once you have developed the application, we can supply the TRITON-XXS modules for your products with the files loaded into the Flash memory, for a small additional charge.
